The performance of all of the Bureau’s licensees is carefully monitored through quarterly data submission, incident reporting, audits and inspections.
The HSE data submitted by licensees quarterly includes the number of man hours worked by company and contractor personnel, the number and type of incidents that occurred, the consequences of those incidents and the amount of health and safety training that was provided during that quarter.
The Bureau compiles the quarterly information and compares it to historic data with the view to identify trends in performance that could lead to the prevention of similar incidents. Licensees that achieve higher-than-average performance may have adopted unique systems or processes that could assist in prevention.
By sharing the compiled information with licensees and discussing the recent trends within the sector, the Bureau is able to support continued improvement in health and safety performance.
The Bureau, in coordination with its licensees, is working towards the proactive monitoring of licensees’ health, safety and environmental arrangements.
